Used in architecture dating back thousands of years, the highly decorative corbel has a place in the grandest setting.
The technique of corbelling, where rows of corbels deeply keyed inside a wall support a projecting wall or parapet, has been used since Neolithic (New Stone Age) times. Our plaster based corbels are used for decoration purposes as apposed to the wall support mechanism they were originally designed for. Our Geelong Design Centre has a selection of corbels on display.
