Judged the Commercial Project of the Year at the November 2025 Walkers Design Awards, Jess from Hamilton Clark takes us through the trials and tribulations of the wonderful transformation of the Bareena Post Office to The Retreat Restaurant and Bar in Newtown Geelong. Charlotte Walker from Walkers Design Centre, joined Jess at The Retreat to chat about the project. We delve a little more deeply into the history of the post office and the importance of keeping it’s identity, the unique colour palette and the reasons behind many of the striking features of the transformation.
